Sir Alex Ferguson says he only worked with four "world-class players" as boss of Manchester United.

Manager for 26 years, the club won the Champions League twice and 13 Premier League titles during his time in charge.

But he says in all that time only Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs could be described as truly "world class".

So who missed the cut?

Here's our starting 11 of "not world-class players".

Rooney is England's top goal scorer of all time having scored 50 times while playing for his country. Still, could have played better for Fergie

A mere 95 goals in 150 matches for United, Ruud van Nistelrooy who also played for PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid. Ruud not to, Sir Alex?

Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole formed one of the most prolific strike partnerships in the history of the Premier League. But they could have been a little bit better, apparently
