Adele is set to perform at the Brit Awards 2016 on 24 February.

It follows a hugely successful year for the singer whose third album 25 has broken pretty much all records.

In the UK, 25 became the fastest-selling album as well as the most downloaded number one album of all time.

Adele could be looking to add to her collection of Brits at the awards in February, having picked up two at the BBC Music Awards last week.

Starting off with the Critics' Choice Award in 2008, Adele has won a total of three Brit Awards, so there's plenty of room in her cabinet for one or two more.

There was controversy in 2012 after one of her acceptance speeches at the Brits was cut short.

Her speech was stopped after she picked up the prize for best British album and flipped her middle finger at organisers.

"I flung the middle finger," she said. "That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me."

And did we mention that Adele is an alumni of the Brit School?

Adele has always been a Brit favourite

"You couldn't get a bigger name in music right now," said Brits chairman Max Lousada.

"Adele is having an exceptional moment and the Brits are delighted to be a part of her history, her present and future."

The Brit Awards will be hosted by Ant and Dec and will be broadcast live on ITV.

Nominations for the Brits are announced on 14 January.

More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
