Joseph Valente has been named the winner of The Apprentice 2015.

The 25-year-old plumbing company owner beat social media entrepreneur Vana Koutsomitis in the final.

He gets a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar for his business idea, Prime Time Plumbers (now called Impra-Gas).

"Thank you, Lord Sugar. It means the world to me," Joseph said after being told he'd won. "I'm not going to let you down. I really appreciate it."

Joseph was expelled from school before getting a plumbing job aged 15. He started his own business three years ago.

After his win, Joseph said: "I can't believe I'm Lord Sugar's business partner. I'm ready to work so, so hard.

"Since the day I was expelled from school, I always knew that I was going to do something big in life. I've come such a long way. I can finally now say that I'm proud of myself."

Lord Sugar described Joseph as "a glowing example of the reason that I do this Apprentice process".

"He's a self-confessed naughty boy in his early days. As young a chap he got himself into a little bit of hot water - fortunately not that serious hot water - turned his life around, decided he was going to work and here he is today, the well deserved winner of The Apprentice.

"I hope it inspires a lot of people looking in to see what is possible in this world."

Losing to Joseph doesn't seem to have stopped Vana, who launched DatePlay on social media on Sunday night.
