Lily Allen has reassured fans that she is "absolutely fine" following claims she collapsed at the Notting Hill Carnival in west London on Monday.

A video was released which appears to show the singer unconscious and then being carried off on her boyfriend's shoulders.

She had been seen drinking with friends at the event earlier.

The 31-year-old initially acknowledged that her carnival experience may not have gone quite to plan.

But after the Sun newspaper approached her for an explanation she posted the following response.

"Truth is I'm just a lightweight, I had 2 cans of strongbow on an empty stomach. I'm here now and I'm absolutely fine.", external

Fans have tweeted their support for the singer, saying she was only having a good time.

I drink, I'm a mum. My child is happy healthy and looked after. Must admit I know my limits though so never get drunk, external

Lily has been retweeting many of the messages and admitted that her carnival experience wasn't exactly one of her proudest moments.

"It's not a framer, no," she said in reply to cricitism., external

Last year a spokesman for Lily Allen released a statement telling fans she was "fine" after pictures were released that appeared to show her passed out on the grass in the VIP section of Glastonbury.
