Many on social media have been praising the community spirit shown as people donate thousands of items for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

People filled local churches, mosques and sports facilities with things like food, clothes and toys.

Items spilled out onto the streets with strangers coming together to help sort the donations.

The response from people has been so overwhelming, some items have had to be turned away.
