Joe checks out the changing face of zoos

Imagine what it would be like if you could get up close and personal to all the animals when you went to a zoo.

Stroking lions and tigers or even cuddling the bears might sound impossible, but years ago that's what zoos were like.

One of them was Chessington Zoo, in Surrey, which has been open to the public for 80 years and is home to more than 1,000 animals.

But zoo life is very different these days. We sent Joe to see how things have changed.
