William, Kate and Harry open Warner Bros studios

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry arrived at the Warner Bros studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire for the attraction's official opening. As well as the Harry Potter series, Batman and James Bond films have been produced at the site.

During a tour of the studios, Prince William - or Flt Lt Wales, as he is known to his RAF colleagues - swapped his Sea King search and rescue helicopter for the Batpod, as featured in The Dark Knight.

William joked about taking over the Batman role with Josh Berger, boss of Warner Brothers UK, Ireland and Spain, telling him: "Christian Bale's getting old and tired... I will stand in if I have to."

From behind the scenes of Gotham City, the Royal party made their way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The trio walked on the same floor used in filming sequences for all eight of the Harry Potter films.

"It's the wand that chooses the wizard," said Mr Ollivander to Harry Potter as he bought his first wand from Diagon Alley. We wonder which wands chose William, Kate and Harry...

The two princes and the duchess become wizards in training as they raise their wands in a tribute to Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter while exploring Diagon Alley. (Funnily enough the trio resemble the main characters rather well!)

The trio certainly looked to be having fun and we reckon Hogwarts would be proud of its new Royal students.

Ready to duel? Kate showcases her wand skills as she challenges William to a wizards duel.

Look at my magic wand! Prince Harry certainly looked to be enjoying his new toy.

Kate chatted to the lady who made the whole thing possible. JK Rowling first thought of the story idea for Harry Potter while sat on a delayed train from Manchester to London. She later said "I've never had an idea that gave me such an incredible elated feeling..."

The lost Weasley brother? Looking around The Bungalow set kitchen Prince Harry could count as a member of the Weasley family.

Giant sized! Kate looks small next to Hagrid. All of the costumes seen throughout the tour are the same ones that were used by the actors in the Harry Potter films.
