The Great Orme in Llandudno and this week this small patch of Wales is set for a great goat count-up. The Great Orme is known for it's wild goat populations, but wardens want to try and work out how many exactly are living there.

It's estimated around 125 goats are on the Great Orme, but wardens need to know how many newborns have recently arrived. Around 12 volunteers will help with the count, using binoculars and telescopes. They will have a set area given to them, so they can cover the whole area of the Great Orme.

Goats have been on the Great Orme for hundreds of years, they were given to Lord Mostyn as a gift from Queen Victoria. The goats used to be owned by the Mostyn estate but are now classed as wild animals. Wardens who look after the area need to keep the number of goats under control - to try and protect the landscape.

The count was originally set to take place on Monday, but bad weather pushed it back to later in the week.
