This picture of lions resting on a rock in Africa has won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award. It was taken by Michael Nichols who captured the image on the roof of his car while the female lions were sleeping with their cubs.

The Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award was won by 8-year-old Carlos Perez Naval from Spain. His picture of this common yellow scorpion was praised because of the techniques used to capture not only the scorpion but the sunlight shining on to it.
