Alice In Wonderland stamps celebrate 150th anniversary

It has been 150 years since Charles Lutwidge Dodgson - better known as Lewis Carroll - first told this classic tale to entertain a group of children on a boat trip in 1862. The book has become one of the all-time great children's books.

To celebrate the anniversary the Royal Mail has issued a new set of stamps that depict popular scenes from the book including the Mad Hatter's tea party.

The illustrator Grahame Baker-Smith said "The most difficult thing was consistency and working on such a small scale".

Lots of the characters are included in the collection including Alice herself, the White rabbit and the Cheshire cat.

The stamps are available now all around the UK.
