Kids' wacky inventions made real

Imagine coming up with the craziest invention - and then seeing it in real life.
The INVENTORS! Project asked over 450 children in Sunderland in the north of England to draw their inventions.
The project then asked local designers and manufacturers to make some of them into real life products.
Take a look at some of the best ones.

Ten-year-old Kai designed this tennis ball which you can control to make it faster or more powerful, depending on what kind of tennis game you fancied playing.

Designers created this model of his idea, where you can turn the dial to select speed and turn again to select power.

Georgia, who was 11, invented this hook to help her get crisps from the bottom of a tub.

A designer came up with this model of a hook to fit inside the crisp tub.

Nine-year-old Wendy invented this long scooter for all the family to ride at the same time.

It was created in real life, with handlebars which can be adjusted to different heights to allow the whole family to ride.

Sophia, aged five, wanted to design an umbrella to keep ladybirds dry in the rain.

Her idea was created out of glass.

Ten-year-old Kaja invented a self-watering plant pot which you can programme so you don't have to remember to water your plants.

Her invention was created with a water sensor that detects that the soil is too dry, which sets off a device to water the plant.
