Royal Mail: New stamp collection to highlight marine life

This stamp shows the bottlenose dolphin. Ten of the stamps show pictures of various marine habitats and creatures that can all be found around the UK, including mammals, fish, anemones, crustaceans, birds, molluscs and cold-water coral reefs.

Check out this cuckoo wrasse. It might look like it belongs in more tropical waters but it is native to the UK. This is a colourful fish can be found near rocky sea-beds. They have powerful teeth and jaws which can be used to crush through shells!

Isn't this grey seal adorable? Seal pups stay on land until they lose their white coats and have grown in body weight. Would you be happy to receive a letter with this cute stamp?

Here is the long snouted seahorse, one of only two seahorses found in UK seas. The stamp collection will go on sale on 22 July and the entire set costs £14.50.

Orcas, also known as killer whales, are found in small numbers around British waters. This new stamp collection want to celebrate the beautiful and surprising wildlife the coast has to offer.

Look at the northern gannet stamp, this white bird with a yellow head is found around coastal cliffs in the north of the UK.

The spiny spider crab really lives up to its name with long legs like a spider. They are found in waters off the south and west coasts of England and Wales.
