Dancing on Ice 2022: Which celebs and professionals are in this series?

Twelve celebrities skating live each week - it can only be Dancing on Ice! The show has returned to our screens with a whole new cast of celebrities.

Presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby plus the judges - dancer Ashley Banjo and skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - are all back.

However, actor John Barrowman, who has appeared as a judge on the competition since 2019, has been replaced by Strictly pro Oti Mabuse.

ITV has also announced that professionals Klabera Komini, Yebin Mok and Hamish Gaman are all hanging up their boots, and three new figure skaters have joined the show.

They are Morgan Swales, who competes for Great Britain, three-time Hong Kong champion Tippy Packard, and former Team USA skater Colin Grafton.

The celebs and their professional partners will be trying to impress both the panel and the viewers who will ultimately decide who wins the show.

Many things are still to be decided, but here's what we know so far!

Which celebrities will be taking to the ice this year?

Connor Ball

The Vamps' Connor Ball is the latest star to join the line-up for Dancing On Ice 2022.

Connor said, "I'm excited obviously but I'm really nervous. I'm quite clumsy, accident prone. Ice is hard! It was pretty hard to keep the secret. The rest of the band know. They're super excited for me."

News that the bass player is joining the show has delighted the band's fans who on social media.

One follower tweeted: "OMG Connor Ball on Dancing On Ice, maybe i will watch it this year?x"

With another saying "Connor Ball doing Dancing On Ice!!! yesss".

Kimberley Wyatt

Popstar and actress Kimberly Wyatt is swapping her dance shoes for ice skates!

Kimberley is famous for TV shows Almost Never, Taking the Next Step and Got to Dance as well as being a member of the Pussycat Dolls.

Speaking to fellow Pussycat Doll, Ashley Roberts, on Heart Breakfast Kimberley said: "I have signed up for Dancing on Ice! I'm nervous, that ice is going to hit hard. I'm just excited to see what I can do on there. I'm up for a challenge!"

Ria Hebden

Ria Hebden revealed live on ITV's Lorraine show that she would be taking part in Dancing on Ice.

The presenter of the entertainment news slot said: "It'll be fun. This is one of ITV's most sparkly shows so when they asked me I was like absolutely, we watch it at home. It will be brilliant to learn a new scary skill."

She went on to say: "You've got to say yes to things that excite you, that are a little bit scary!"

When Lorraine asked Ria if she'd skated much before, she said: "I went when I was 10 years old with my grandma and grandad."

Kye Whyte

Olympian Kye has become the ninth celeb to be announced for the skating show.

As exclusively revealed on Newsround, the BMX silver medallist from Tokyo 2020 Games is feeling pretty confident about his chances!

Kye told us he wants to get to the final and isn't worried about the lifts, but his biggest worry? Remembering the routines!

He added: "When I did the audition I kind of related it to roller-skating so I think I did pretty well... I think the thing I'm really confident about is I don't really mind if I fall, I'm quite fearless.

As a professional sportsman who's pretty competitive, we'll be watching Kye super-closely!

Brendan Cole

Brendan is the eighth celeb to be announced for Dancing on Ice next year.

You may recognise Brendan from Strictly Come Dancing where he was a pro for 15 seasons and even won the very first Strictly Glitterball trophy.

"I'm so, so excited," Brendan said. "It's been a while coming - I've known I'd be going to do the show for quite some time - and I want to get started. I'm so excited to be on the show."

The dancer also admitted he has had "one go" at skating, revealing: "I was terrible. I was a bit wobbly. I was hoping I was going to be better than I was. But I've got time to learn. I'm going to embrace the whole experience."

Rachel Stevens

The former S Club Seven singer said she feels "so excited, but obviously really nervous" to be taking part.

She will unfortunately miss her first week on the ice as she recovers from a fracture to her wrist.

She wanted to take part because of the opportunity to learn a new skill, but hasn't really skated before - except when using a plastic penguin to help her onto the ice with her children at Christmas. Good luck Rachel!

Liberty Poole

The reality TV star's mum used to be a figure skater, so she's sure to be hoping skating talent is in the family!

Liberty said: "I ice skate as a hobby sometimes so I can get around the rink but I can't do any tricks, no pirouetting or anything so I'm really looking forward to pushing myself and learning as much as I possibly can."

Regan Gascoigne

The twenty-five-year-old is a professional dancer and the son of former England footballer Paul Gascoigne.

He said: "Obviously I dance and love dancing but it's the skill of this. I've always wanted to do it. Always! Ever since I was a kid!"

Ben Foden

Rugby star Ben Foden has some experience on the ice already, skating as a child and going to ice discos when he was a teenager.

Unsurprisingly for a sportsman he's also quite competitive, but says "I like the challenge of competing against others doing something that I'm not necessarily good at!"

Stef Reid

The Paralympic medallist joked that she was taking up a new winter sport when she announced she was joining the show.

She's best known for her talent in track and field events, competing mainly in category T44 long jump and sprint events in three Paralympic Games, and taking home both bronze and silver medals.

Sally Dynevor

The Coronation Street's actress, who also has an MBE, was the first celebrity skater confirmed to take part in the new series but has never skated before.

She said: "I went with Hattie [her daughter] when she was little... and then thought this is too hard so I'll go and get a coffee!"

Bez

The rock star, who was formerly part of the band Happy Mondays, was surprised to be picked to take part after being "absolutely awful" at the audition.

He tested positive for Covid-19 after performing live on the opening show.

The musician said he is "gutted" that he will miss training but he will be back skating again in week three.
