In pictures: Saharan dust cloud sweeping over Europe headed to UK
- Published

Granada is a city in southern Spain’s Andalusia region, and it woke up to the huge cloud of dust.

It's been turning cars dusty all over the country, and authorities in Spain asked people to stay inside where possible.

It also affected the country's capital, Madrid. Here you can (almost) see the skyscrapers of the Four Towers Business Area in the city obscured by the orange-red cloud.

When it reaches the UK, the dust will have travelled 1,500 miles from Algeria and Morocco.

The dust also reached one of Spain's hottest regions, Almeria.

And the dust didn't just travel to Spain - here you can see it turning the mountains of Switzerland orange.

This Swiss army base was turned orange-yellow, too.
