The shortlist for this year’s Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards has been announced and as always, the competition is full of hilarious photos which are sure to put a smile on lots of faces - just look at this beaver.

This year’s final shortlist was whittled down from thousands of entries submitted by professional and amateur photographers from all around the world. Here are just some of our favourites...

This brown bear is certainly not camera shy. He was snapped in Finland and he seems to have a pretty successful modelling career ahead of him.

There's one very nosy giraffe in this image, can you spot it? The group was photographed at a waterhole in the Onguma Game Reserve in Namibia, Africa.

This polite group of surgeonfish in Mo'orea in French Polynesia are practising ocean etiquette by allowing this Blacktip reef shark to go past...it's probably the safest option too.

This mother polar bear was photographed pushing her hesitant young into the water with her leg - you could say it was thrown in the deep end!

How comfortable does this lion cub look? Its picture was taken late in the evening in the Masai Mara wildlife reserve in Kenya.

This Atlantic puffin looks very relaxed in the water while watching jellyfish.

These baboons were snapped at Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya. In this photo, a very mischievous baby baboon is seen trying to get away from its mum.

This swan takes the selfie to a whole new level - how picturesque is that background.

What does this funny looking bird remind you of? The white grouse was photographed during the winter and looks a bit like a snowball.

How happy does this swamp turtle look? It was snapped with a dragonfly resting on its nose.
