You've got to BEE kidding! Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz was stung as bees swarmed the tennis court during his Indian Wells quarter-final against Alexander Zverev. The umpire was forced to suspend play in the third game as the bees invaded the court in California.

Play was paused one hour and 40 minutes. The bees were particularly interested in the 'spidercam'. It's a TV camera on a high wire that can move about above the pitch.

Wimbledon champion, Carlos Alcaraz pulled up his short and waved his racquet around as he tried to hide himself away from the flying insects on the court.

But he still got stung on the side of the face by one of the bees. After the match he said it was "for sure the most unusual match I have ever played in my career. He added: "It was crazy. I tried to stay away from them, but it was impossible."

The tournament's beekeeper was called to remove the bees from the spidercam. He used a hoover to suck them up and into a cage to be released later.

Despite being stung, Carlos Alcaraz won the match against Alexander Zverev, putting the defending champ through to the semi-finals.
