Blossom: Spring has sprung with cherry trees in full bloom

Spring is here, which means that many blossom trees are already in full bloom. Here a model enjoys the beautiful colours of a blossom tree in Springhead Park in Leeds.

In Lviv, Ukraine, unusually warm weather for the season has meant that meteorological spring has started much earlier than usual, with some late-spring flowers blooming early too.

In Wuhan, China, the cherry blossoms in East Lake Cherry Garden were out in full force in mid-March. There are as many as 80 different varieties of cherry blossom trees in the garden.

Japan is famous for its cherry blossom trees, with Bloomberg reporting that the country attracted 3.1 million foreign tourists in March. The blossoming trees are known as Sakura in Japanese. Here a woman walks through Hamcho Park in Tokyo after heavy rain.

Sakura are culturally significant to Japan, and are the country's national flower.

In Gangneung, South Korea, cherry blossoms and tulips have come into full bloom.

And in London's Greenwich Park, warnings are given to the selfie takers and nature lovers not to get too close to the blossom because it's so delicate.
