No Place to Call Home: A Newsround Special

No Place to Call Home tells the story of the record numbers of children in the UK who are homeless.

Figures from the UK government show that there are currently almost 150,000 children in this situation.

Many of them live in temporary or unsuitable housing. Others have had to move lots of times and often don't know where they'll be living next.

Temporary accommodations for people can be things such as hotels and hostels. They're often overcrowded and can have a range of problems.

Reporter Shanequa Paris investigates how this has a huge impact on families, on schooling and on children's mental health.

She hears first hand from children who have experienced homelessness and finds out what help is available to them.
