Winner of world's 'ugliest dog' competition crowned

Dogs in all sorts of shapes and sizes met up in California for the World's Ugliest Dog contest. Facing some tough competition, the top prize - and title of official ugliest dog - was awarded to Wild Thang. Her hair certainly lives up to her name!

Wild Thang's owner - Ann Lewis - was super proud. She had been submitting Wild Thang to the competition for four years before finally taking home the top prize

Although ugly is in the title, the competition is all about celebrating the weird and wonderful about our furry friends. Let's take a look at some of the runners-up...

Rome - the ugly pug with the wonky tongue - came in second place and was crowned the People's Choice Winner

Daisy Mae got a podium spot with a third place finish

The winner of the competition got $5000 - which is just under £4000. Congratulations Wild Thang, we hope you get lots of treats!
