One of the UK's major dictionaries has released its Word of the Year.

'Vibe coding', a software development that turns natural language into computer code using AI, has been named Collins Dictionary's Word of the Year 2025.

Ok, so this isn't one we use a lot in everyday life which is why we want to hear what your word of 2025 would be.

Let us know in the comments below and read on to find out what some of the shortlisted words were.

Much of the Collins' Word of the Year shortlist shows a shift towards a tech-dominated world.

The shortlisted words include biohacking, the activity of altering the natural processes of your body to try and improve your health.

Clanker, a rude name for a computer, robot or source of AI.

Coolcation, a holiday in a cool climate and glaze, defined as 'to praise or flatter excessively, often undeservedly' are some of the other shortlisted words.

The words are chosen by the Collins dictionary team, experts who put the dictionary together.

Although it's called Word of the Year, not all the words necessarily first came into existence in 2025 - but Collins decided this was the year that they became really popular.

For example 'clanker', was first used in the mid 2000s in Star Wars, but made the list when it became popular on TikTok when some people used it when they became frustrated with AI.
