Windy weather improving for the final Christmas travel dash
- Published
After strong winds have caused travel disruption in parts of the UK, it now looks like weather conditions are improving as the final Christmas dash begins.
Weather warnings were in place but these have now been lifted.
Over the weekend strong winds caused flight and rail delays meaning some people struggled as they travelled ahead of Christmas.
But, the Met Office have said that although it may be a "grey Christmas" the temperatures should be "extremely mild".

Over the weekend the UK was hit by chilly temperatures.
In some places the wind gusts hit 50-60 miles per hour.
The strongest wind was recorded in South Uist on the Western Isles clocking in at 82mph - that's faster than a car on the motorway!
The wind meant that some planes and trains were delayed, and others were cancelled.
As the weather improves, hopefully so does travel for those who may be going away or to see family and friends for Christmas.
However the roads are predicted to be busy!
Last week, the RAC predicted a record 29 million separate road journeys in the run-up to Christmas.
That's a lot of cars on the road!
