You might think it's quite difficult for a tortoise to go missing, given they aren't the quickest animals.
That's not trying to be rude to any tortoise fans out there, the fastest one on record travelled at 0.6 miles per hour - compared to the average dog that can travel at around 19 miles per hour.
But Leonardo, the tortoise from Ulverston in Cumbria, didn't let that get in the way of his great escape.
Shell we tell you more about his nine month adventure?

Leonardo had been living with his owner Rachel Etches for 13 years before he vanished from the garden last July.
A campaign was setup online to try and find him, but it took nine months for him to be discovered.
Someone walking their dog spotted him walking down the street just a mile from where he lived.
He was taken to a nearby pet shop, where staff helped to find his owner and help him get home.

Rachel says she must have been a bit distracted looking after one of her young children and "he wandered off out of sight".
She believes that Leonardo had hibernated for the winter and then woke up as the weather started to improve.
It's not the first time Leonardo escaped, he vanished a few years ago, but was only missing for a couple of days that time.
"They're very adventurous beings, they always test the boundaries of wherever they're put," Mrs Etches said.
