One more celebrity has hung up their dancing shoes for now after being voted off Strictly Come Dancing.

Former footballer Paul Merson has become the fourth celebrity to exit the stage for good.

Paul and his professional partner Karen Hauer faced JLS star JB Gill and Amy Dowden in the dance off, which was a surprise to fans due to JB and Amy's higher score.

The good news is Paul said he felt he has "won" by learning to dance.

What happened in the dance off?

On Saturday, Paul and Karen were bottom of the leaderboard with 19 points from the judges for their samba.

They were followed by Dr Punam Krishan on 21 points, TV personality Pete Wicks on 22 points, and hockey player and presenter Sam Quek on 26 points.

JB and Amy were awarded 30 points from the judges for their jive routine, but they still found themselves in the dance off following the public vote.

The judges all picked to keep JB and Amy after both couples performed their routines again.

Paul, who is a former Arsenal player, said: "It's been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I've had a great teacher.

"She's been amazing, absolutely amazing and I couldn't wish for a better coach. I've loved every minute of it. I can dance now - I've won because I can dance, I couldn't dance before and I can half dance now. It's a bonus, absolute bonus."

Karen told Paul: "You're what Strictly is about and I want to thank you for bringing such joy and just showing everyone that it is possible with a little bit of work and lots of giggles."

The 11 couples who are left in the competition will take to the dancefloor for some spooky surprises on Saturday - as it's the Halloween Special.
