Coco 2 is currently in development at Pixar Animation Studios.
The news was announced by the Walt Disney Company’s big boss, Bob Iger, with a release date some time in 2029 expected.
“While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure, and we can't wait to share more soon," Iger said.

If you loved the original Coco, you know it followed Miguel, a 12-year-old boy with big dreams of becoming a musician, even though his family had banned music for generations.
Miguel ends up in the magical Land of the Dead, where he uncovers the secrets of his family's past.
The first movie, released in 2018, was a huge hit and won two Oscar Academy Awards, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for ‘Remember Me’. Plus, it took home a Golden Globe and a Bafta film award too.
Coco was also the first Pixar film to have a Mexican character in the lead role.
Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina are set to return as director and co-director, so the sequel is being made by the same people as the original.
