Gout Gout had come incredibly close to breaking the 10-second barrier for 100m before, recording a time of 10.04s at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships in 2024.
Despite beating that time, and winning the 100m at this year's Australian Athletics Championships, these under-10s times won't be officially counted.
After his first 9.99s run, a sign flashed up to say that there was a 3.5m/s tailwind, with his second run recording a 2.6m/s tailwind.
A tailwind is where the wind is blowing naturally in the direction the athletes are running, which can help push them faster.
