Would you be willing to have a filling done by a robot dentist?
A robot has completed the "world's first fully automated robotic dental procedure" on a human.
The technology was made by a US company, called Perceptive, and they say its machine can do dental treatments, like fillings and crowns, faster and more accurately.
The technology features a robotic arm, artificial intelligence and 3D imaging to help perfom dental work.
According to Perceptive, the machine can perform treatments that would take a human dentist two, two-hour sessions, in just 15 minutes.

The procedure begins with a scan of the patient’s tooth and mouth. The advanced scanner captures 3D images.
The system then uses AI to look at the 3D image and plan the procedure.
"We’re excited to successfully complete the world's first fully automated robotic dental procedure,” said Dr. Chris Ciriello, CEO and Founder of Perceptive.
"We look forward to advancing our system and pioneering scalable, fully automated dental healthcare solutions for patients.”
The robotic device is still a work in progress though and hasn't yet been approved for full use.
But the makers insist it is safe and claim their technology will "transform dentistry".
