Jersey's Zane Duquemin smashed his own Island Games record by almost a metre to take gold in the shot put.
The British indoor champion threw a distance of 18.10m to better the mark he set in winning gold in the Isle of Wight in 2011 by 0.95m.
"I'm really pleased, it's nice to go over 18 metres again," Duquemin told BBC Radio Jersey.
"I beat the record by nearly a metre and I'm looking forward to the discus tomorrow," he added.
Earlier Jersey had won a second athletics gold medal through 400m hurdler Stanley Livingston.
The 18-year-old clocked a time of 52.96 to beat Guernsey's Sam Wallbridge by over half a second to add to Jason Fox's gold medal in the high jump on Sunday.
"It's amazing. It's a bit surreal," Livingston said after his victory.
"I was imagining this moment happening, and now it's happened it's really strange, I don't know what to think of it.
Meanwhile Guernsey's Josh Allaway won silver in the 200m, finishing 0.41 seconds behind Cayman Islands' Tyrell Cuffy.
