Yorkshire draw with Kent

Kent 10pts Yorkshire 9pts

Yorkshire held on for a draw in their opening County Championship match against Kent despite a fine spell of bowling by Charlie Shreck.

Shreck claimed 4-6 in 18 balls to dismiss the tail and force the hosts to follow on 173 runs in arrears with 79 overs to go on the final day.

But a opening stand of 115 by Joe Root and Joe Sayers helped Yorkshire save the match.

The hosts were on 146-4 when bad light ended play with 26 overs to remaining.
