Hampshire (63-0 from 5.4 overs) beat Surrey (84-4 from 10 overs) by 19 runs (Duckworth/Lewis method)

Hampshire all but secured progress to the Friends Life t20 quarter-finals with a rain affected 19-run Duckworth-Lewis victory against Surrey.

Surrey's Kevin Pietersen was dismissed first ball, but the hosts rallied with Steven Davies' 30 and Zafar Ansari's 35 to end on 84-4 from 10 overs.

The visitors' 63 through Jimmy Adams (28) and James Vince (24), plus 11 extras, proved enough as the rain came.

It means Hampshire, with 11 points, trail South leaders Sussex by a point.

Meanwhile Surrey, bottom of the table, have won just two matches in Friends Life t20 this season.
