Worcestershire sign RAF corporal Graeme Cessford

Worcestershire have signed Graeme Cessford for the 2013 season, after the Royal Air Force Corporal was granted permission to join the club.

The 29-year-old fast bowler impressed while making four appearances for the club's second XI last season.

Cessford now has the RAF's Elite Athlete Status, which allows him to move to New Road before returning to service when his contract expires.

However, he will combine playing with a public relations role for the RAF.

"Cess has the ability to bowl with pace and this will be a valuable asset in our 2013 campaign," director of cricket Steve Rhodes told the club's website.

"He will give the squad some depth for bowling spots and I am looking forward to working with him."
