Leicestershire's Richard Jones's debut 5-34 was in vain as Lancashire won by nine runs to boost their hopes of reaching the T20 Blast knockout stages.
The seamer, on loan from Warwickshire, got rid of England man Jos Buttler (20) before Tom Smith (50) and Paul Horton (40) led Lancashire to 166-7.
The Foxes stayed in the hunt in reply with Matt Boyce's 47 from 35 balls.
But seven runs came from the final over off Kabir Ali (2-26), while Junaid Khan picked up 3-30, as they ended 157-7.
