Derbyshire Falcons 193-7 (19ovs) beat Birmingham Bears 189-5 (20 ovs) by three wickets

Derbyshire completed an unlikely run chase to seal their first T20 Blast victory of the summer - at the eighth attempt - against the Birmingham Bears.

Will Porterfield blasted a superb 41-ball 74 in putting on 102 with Varun Chopra (35) as the Bears posted 189-5.

Wes Durston (53) crashed four sixes in reply, but at 93-4 it looked all over.

Wayne Madsen (42) and Alex Hughes (24 from 10 balls) had other ideas, leaving David Wainwright (11 not out) to hit the winning four with six balls left.

Birmingham drop to fourth place in the North Group as a result of their defeat, while Derbyshire are still bottom despite their maiden success.
