Glamorgan 192-4 (20ovs) beat Surrey 188-4 (20ovs) by four runs |
Glamorgan boosted their hopes of making the T20 Blast quarter-finals with a thrilling four-run win over Surrey.
Opener Jacques Rudolph anchored Glamorgan's innings with an unbeaten 75 and Chris Cooke blasted 43 from 23 balls as the visitors posted 192-4.
Jason Roy smashed 60 off 41 balls for Surrey, but his dismissal in the 17th over swung the momentum of the game.
Azhar Mahmood blasted 36 not out, but with 13 needed off the final over, Surrey fell short on 188-4.
Despite a fifth half-century in seven innings from Roy, who is the competition's leading scorer with 531 runs, it was another disappointing night for Kevin Pietersen.
The former England batsman made 20 off 17 balls before he holed out to Ben Wright on the boundary off the bowling of Adam Salter.
The result sees Glamorgan leapfrog Surrey into third place in the South Group table with 13 points from 11 games, while Surrey, in fourth, have 12 points from 10 matches.
