Warwickshire's slim hopes of reclaiming the County Championship title they last won in 2012 faded even further as they drew with Middlesex on a day when leaders Yorkshire won by an innings.
Young Sam Hain hit a third Championship century of the season at Lord's.
But the Bears now trail the Tykes by 33 points, with just two matches left.
Resuming on 310-6, Middlesex declared on 372-9, a first innings lead of 10 before the Bears batted out the day on 182-2, Hain making an unbeaten 106.

The 19-year-old, who has now made an impressive 670 runs in 11 matches at 44.66 in his first summer of Championship cricket, was well supported by William Porterfield (62 not out) in an unbroken third-wicket stand of 173.
It came after Middlesex seam bowler Tim Murtagh had removed Ian Westwood and Jonathan Trott in the space of four balls, to reduce the visitors to 9-2.
The Bears' hopes now rest on winning next week when they host bottom club Northants at Edgbaston, while hoping second-placed Nottinghamshire, who are only seven points ahead of them, beat Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.

With three matches left, sixth-placed Middlesex are 12 points clear, with a game in hand, over next-to-bottom Lancashire. But their fate is very much in their own hands.
Two of Middlesex's final three matches are at home to seventh-placed Durham, then at Old Trafford against Lancashire, who still occupy the second of the two automatic relegation spots, ahead of Northants, whose drop back to Division Two has now been confirmed.
