Derbyshire: Jonathan Clare recovering after back surgery
- Published
Derbyshire all-rounder Jonathan Clare could be out for a further six months after undergoing back surgery.
The 28-year-old's only first XI appearance last season came in the T20 Blast as he struggled for fitness after aggravating an old injury.
Clare has taken 154 wickets and scored 1,721 runs for Derbyshire since making his first-class debut in 2007.
"I underwent a successful operation to solve the problem and I'm now looking forward to the future," said Clare.
"I'm now looking at a four-to-six-month recovery period.
"It's been an unbelievably frustrating period for me and my family because nobody knew what was wrong - that was the most frustrating thing.
"I was really struggling to find any confidence from anywhere."
