Britain's Nick Robinson-Baker and Chris Mears finished eighth in the 3m synchro springboard at the World Championships.

The pair were just 6.72 points off a bronze when Robinson-Baker made an error on entry on the last dive to end their medal chances in Barcelona.

"I decided to get a little bit pumped and try a little bit too hard for those big scores," said Robinson-Baker.

China won gold with Qin Kai, partnered by He Chong, claiming his fourth successive title in the event.

Russia's Evgeny Kuznetsov and Ilia Zakharov took the silver, with Mexican pair Jahir Ocampo and Rommel Pacheco winning bronze.
