Forest Green Rovers have signed Sierra Leone international midfielder Alhassan Bangura on a two-year deal.

The 23-year-old was coached by Rovers boss Dave Hockaday during his time as a Watford academy player.

"I am delighted to be back with such a great man," the midfielder told the club website., external

Bangura left the Hornets in 2009 and, after a short spell at Blackpool, he moved to Azerbaijan to play under Arsenal legend Tony Adams at Gabala.

"Ali is a proper player and every inch the complete midfielder," added Hockaday. "He is a coach's dream because he takes to things.

"Ali is blessed with lightning pace, excellent ball-shielding and dribbling skills, as well as a highly developed sense of teamwork and the all-important ruthlessness in the middle."
