Williams made his Poppies debut against Mansfield

Kettering Town have signed experienced midfielder Tom Williams on a three-game trial.

The 31-year-old has made more than 300 appearances for a host of clubs, including West Ham, Peterborough and Walsall, external.

Poppies boss Morell Maison told BBC Radio Northampton, external: "Hopefully he can help us through this rocky period in terms of injuries.

"We lost Jon Challinor to York so we need one or two."

The deal follows the news that summer signing Craig Dobson, external will miss four to six months with cruciate ligament damage.

Williams started his career with Walton & Hersham but made the move to the Hammers in 2000.
