Everton have signed Dutch midfielder Royston Drenthe and Argentine striker Denis Stracqualursi on season-long loans.
Netherlands international Drenthe, 24, signed from Real Madrid after spending last season on loan at Hercules.
Stracqualursi, 23, who was last season's top scorer in the Argentine league, joined from Tigres.
Both players sealed their moves to Goodison Park just before the transfer window deadline closed.
Drenthe, who moved to Madrid from Feyenoord in 2007, is likely to play in midfield as Leighton Baines is an automatic first choice at left-back at Goodison Park.
Stracqualursi, nicknamed El Traca - the firecracker, was the top scorer in Argentina last season notching 22 goals in 35 games.
He was a target for Argentine champions Velez Sarsfield.
