Alex Le Provost's penalty ensured North retained the Rawlinson Cup after beating Rangers 2-1 at The Track.

North's Guernsey FC striker Matt Loaring opened the scoring after half an hour, but former Great Britain hurdler Dale Garland equalised soon after the break.

With 20 minutes to go Alex Le Prevost was fouled in the box and he converted the spot-kick to seal the win.

The Rawlinson Cup is the traditional curtain-raiser to the domestic season.
