Goals from Matt Taylor, Johnnie Jackson, Danny Hollands and Bradley Pritchard eased Charlton to an FA Cup first-round win against FC Halifax.

Taylor opened the scoring when he headed in Paul Hayes' swinging cross from deep inside the box.

Jackson added a second after the break with a ferocious 18-yard strike before Hollands flicked in a third.

Pritchard fired in a late fourth after the non-league side's Danny Lowe was sent off for a late challenge.

Substitute Pritchard struck a low shot past Halifax keeper Simon Eastwood to claim his first goal for the League One leaders.

Halifax had gone close to equalising at 1-0 down but Lee Gregory was unable to connect with pacy substitute Jason St Juste's teasing cross.
