Oxford United left-back Tony Capaldi has been ruled out for up to eight weeks after suffering a ruptured cartilage in his knee.

The Northern Ireland international, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the U's, only returned to full training in December after a calf problem.

Capaldi suffered his latest set-back in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Bristol City last week.

He joined the U's in the summer on a free transfer after leaving Morecambe.
