Guernsey FC may have to forfeit the three points from their game against CB Hounslow, which the side won 2-0 on Saturday, for fielding a suspended player.

The Green Lions played a suspended player in the Combined Counties League Division One fixture.

Midfielder Kieran Mahon was sent off on 10 February as Northerners AC beat Vale Rec 1-0 to win the Priaulx League.

He was due to serve a two match suspension from Friday, 2 March.

Guernsey FC told BBC Guernsey. when it became aware of the suspension on Sunday it informed the Combined Counties League and expected to receive a three-point deduction and fine at the league's management committee meeting, due to held on Monday evening.

The Guernsey Football Association said a new match-based disciplinary system was introduced for the 2011/12 season by the FA to offer clarity over disciplinary issues.

The GFA said: "It was agreed at the beginning of the season that the Priaulx League and Combined Counties League should be classified as the same type of football (Saturday) for disciplinary purposes.

"As a result, suspensions incurred in Priaulx League football apply for Combined Counties Games and vice-versa."

The GFA said following Kieran Mahon's second dismissal of the season was suspended for two of North's Saturday-type fixtures and would be unable to play CCL fixtures until that suspension had been served.

The suspension does not apply to representative or non-Saturday type football.
