Burton Albion have signed Shrewsbury Town winger Lionel Ainsworth and Sheffield United midfielder Matthew Harriott on one-month loan deals.
Both Ainsworth, 24, and Harriott, 19, can play against Port Vale on Tuesday.
Manager Paul Peschisolido said the signings will help lift the gloom after an 11-game winless run.
"We're in a situation where we need a spark. We want to get out of the rut we are in and we could do with a bit of a livener," Peschisolido said.
"Lionel's a bundle of energy, has plenty of pace, an end product and scores goals.
"He's a player who we've admired for quite some time but obviously because of his quality Shrewsbury were very reluctant to let him out.
"Matthew's a young lad who I've watched a few times now in reserve team games. He brings us athleticism in the middle of the park which is something I think we need."
Ainsworth began his career at Derby County and had permanent spells with Watford and Huddersfield Town before joining Shrewsbury in August 2010., external
Harriott joined the Blades from Luton Town in 2010 but has only played four first-team games, one of which came against the Brewers in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy this season.
