Blackpool boss Ian Holloway wants more attacking options

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is hopeful of strengthening his attacking options before the start of the season.

And Holloway has not ruled out a move for Swansea's Stephen Dobbie, who spent the final two months of last season on loan at Bloomfield Road.

"I need to speak to the powers that be, rather than conjecture about other people's players," said Holloway.

"But I've used him twice before and he's a player I admire greatly. He's played very well for me and my club."

Holloway added: "If I want to talk about it, I certainly will to Swansea, out of respect to them."

Dobbie had previously helped the Seasiders win promotion to the Premier League in 2010 during the first of two loan spells with the club.

His six goals in 10 appearances last season fired Blackpool to the Championship play-off final at Wembley, where they were beaten 2-1 by West Ham.

Veteran striker Kevin Phillips is expected to miss the opening game of the season, a Capital One Cup tie at home to Morecambe on Sunday, because of a hamstring problem.

And experienced front men Lomana Lua-Lua, Roman Bednar and Brett Ormerod have all left since May's play-off final defeat.

"This time last season, I probably had seven senior strikers that I could start the season with," Holloway told the club website.

"I've got some young ones who are quite bright, like Tom Barkhuizen. Whether I'll loan him out this year, I don't know.

"I know what I need to do but, where we get our players from, we don't normally have a chance to go and purchase them because today's prices are pretty ridiculous."
