Andy Robinson was delighted to score the first hat-trick of his career for home-town club Tranmere Rovers.
Robinson netted all three goals in Rovers' 3-0 victory at Carlisle on Tuesday, the club's third straight win.
"You sometimes have those games where everything you hit seems to go in and it was my night," midfielder Robinson, 32, told BBC Radio Merseyside., external
"I've scored a couple of twos, but never the hat-trick, and I'm so pleased that it's happened for Tranmere."
Robinson, who has made 328 appearances in his senior career, helped Tranmere maintain their 100% start in League One, with his second and third goals coming directly from free-kicks.
"I've had a few in the same position over the past couple of games and they've been hitting the wall," he added.
"It was probably the smallest wall I've come up against and if you can get it up and down, you've always got a chance.
"For the third one, I think the manager just wanted me to put it towards the back post, but I just had a bash at it, I caught it sweet and it's nice when it hits the back of the net."
