Zambia striker Emmanuel Mayuka has joined Sochaux from Southampton on loan, while compatriot Emmanuel Mbola has moved to Israel's Hapoel Ra'anana.

Mayuka, 22, will spend a season in France's Ligue 1 before returning to his parent club in England.

He said: "I'm happy to sign with FC Sochaux. I need to have more game time so I had to be loaned from Southampton - I thank them for understanding.

"I cannot wait to play my first game with Sochaux."

Mayuka, who has 43 international caps, joined Southampton from Young Boys Berne in August 2012 for an undisclosed fee and scored his first goal in the 5-1 Capital One Cup victory at Barnsley last week.

His immediate attention will be on Chipolopolo's crucial World Cup qualifier against Ghana on Friday.

Zambia are second in Group D, one point behind Ghana, so must beat their rivals to reach the African play-offs for next year's tournament in Brazil.

Defender Mbola has also moved clubs ahead of Friday's big game, heading to Israel on a season-long loan from DR Congo club TP Mazembe.

"I'm happy to sign for Hapoel Ra'anana," the 20-year-old said. "I thank TP for allowing me to make this move. I want to play in west Europe and Israel is a good start.

"I'm now focused on Zambia's game against Ghana as that's most important."
