Women's World Cup qualifying: Scotland crush Bosnia

Scotland made it two wins from two in 2015 World Cup qualifying with a comprehensive 7-0 victory against Bosnia.

The Scots outplayed their opponents at Fir Park, racing into a two-goal lead through Lisa Evans and Leanne Ross.

Bosnia right-back Nikolina Dijakovic endured a torrid time against the rampaging Evans as the Scots bristled with attacking intent.

Kim Little, Rachel Corsie, Jane Ross and Suzanne Lappin added further goals as the Scots coasted to the win.

Scotland, unchanged from the side that thumped Faroe Islands 7-2, pinned Bosnia in their own half for long spells and kept goalkeeper Almina Hodzic busy throughout this one-sided Group 4 encounter.

Evans proved brittle Bosnia's tormentor-in-chief, teeing up Leanne Crichton with an early chance after easily breaching the visiting rearguard.

Crichton clipped her effort over the bar but Evans was not to be denied as she slalomed past a couple of Bosnia challenges before guiding a shot beyond Hodzic.

Anna Signeul's Scots took great confidence from the early breakthrough, playing some impressive one-touch football and finding ample space behind Bosnia's defence.

Leanne Ross doubled Scotland's lead, firing home after a slick passing move involving Kim Little and Jane Ross.

With Scotland swarming forward at will, Bosnian defender Amira Spahic denied Leanne Ross.

Evans, once again showing Dijakovic a clean pair of heels, whipped over a superb cross that Jane Ross sent whistling over the bar.

Little collected a clever lobbed pass from Jane Ross before coolly rounding Hodzic and slotting home.

Bosnia rarely ventured into Scottish territory, with Scotland goalkeeper Gemma Fay, earning her 160th cap, a virtual spectator.

Scotland showed little inclination to take their foot off the gas after the break, Rachel Corsie heading home the fourth via the post with the Bosnian defence all at sea.

The weary Bosnians did their best to repel wave after wave of attacks as the Scots sought to boost their goal difference.

Evans, with another trademark run down the left, laid on the fifth for Jane Ross from close range as the hosts continued their ruthless display.

And the Scots nabbed a sixth when Jenny Beattie's header from Little's free-kick deflected off Spahic and past the helpless Hodzic.

Evans had a blizzard of efforts correctly chalked off for offside and could have had at least a hat-trick to cap a tremendous performance.

Substitute Suzanne Lappin slotted home the seventh late on for the rampant Scots, who will face sterner tests in a World Cup qualifying group also featuring Sweden, Poland and Northern Ireland.

However, their impressive goalscoring form will boost hopes of booking their place in the finals.
