Kenny Shiels suffered defeat in his first match in charge of Greenock Morton as Falkirk left Cappielow with all three points.
Kieran Duffie opened the scoring for the Bairns, heading home Mark Millar's delivery in the second half.
Falkirk were awarded a penalty when Tomas Peciar fouled Philip Roberts in the area and Rory Loy converted.
Morton could not find a way back and they now sit six points adrift at the bottom of the table.
