Dan Gardner: Chesterfield sign Halifax forward

Chesterfield have signed forward Dan Gardner from Conference Premier side FC Halifax for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old has agreed an 18-month contract with the Spireites, who currently sit third in League Two.

Gardner, who has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for Halifax this season, began his career at Celtic, prior to spells with Crewe and Droylsden.

Spireites boss Paul Cook told the club website: "We've watched him for some time and he's progressed really well."
